UK WILPF members were present at the demonstration opposite 10 Downing Street today expressing their concern that tomorrow’s Parliamentary vote will result in UK air strikes in Iraq.
The event was organised by Stop the War Coalition and CND. Speakers included CND’s Kate Hudson and Jeremy Corbyn, among others. The illegality of possible air strikes, failure of past interventions and opposition to the ‘war breeds more war’ mentality all met with crowd approval.
If Parliament votes in favour of carrying out military intervention in Iraq another demonstration is planned for Saturday 4 October.
