November 30, 10:00-12:00, Online: Workshop on LGBTQ+ inclusion in WILPF UK
The WILPF UK executive has been conducting work to explore how LGBTQ+ (lesbian, gay, bisesexual, transgender, queer and other gender diverse identities) inclusion and engagement is important to our organisation and campaigning in a context where queer and gender diverse people and communities are subject to oppression, violence, and discrimination.
We are hosting an online workshop, to learn more about how to improve LGBTQ+ engagement with WILPF UK campaigns. We will also think through next step for improve engagement across feminist and LGBTQ+ organisations with ongoing campaign initiatives related to issues like anti-militarism, immigration and hostile environments and climate justice. Dr Jamie Hagen, is helping to facilitate this workshop. Jamie is an expert in gender, security studies and queer theory, specifically focusing on how Women, Peace, and Security initiatives can better include LGBTQ+ voices and experiences, she also co-developed Queering Women, Peace and Security, a practice based toolkit.
