March 12th, 12:00-13:30, Online: ‘Palestine is a Feminist Issue: A Conversation on Women, Peace and Security in Palestine’

Gender Action for Peace and Security (GAPS), WILPF, Oxfam GB, and Madre are delighted to invite you to this discussion which will bring together feminists, academics, and practitioners working for Gender Justice and Women, Peace, and Security to better understand how our feminist commitments extend and include Palestine. As organisations that adopt a feminist approach, we provide this conversation with a panel of brilliant speakers to understand why Palestinian solidarity is a feminist issue and what this means for those with a mandate that focuses on gender justice, decolonisation, WPS, human rights, and peacebuilding.

Our speakers will explore the current inconsistency of states on their application of their Women, Peace, and Security commitments, the failure to apply such commitments as well as the undermining of such commitments by state actions in the name of national security.  We hope to convene a space for thinking on how to mobilise our tools, resources, and expertise within the sector to advocate for a more inclusive decolonial, feminist agenda.
