June 2nd, London, 11:30 am: Meet the survivors – stories from Hiroshima and Nagasaki

Join CND and the Quakers for an opportunity to hear from the Hibakusha, survivors of the Hiroshima and Nagasaki atomic bombings, when they visit London this June. The Hibakusha have been brought to Britain by Peace Boat, a Japanese-based NGO that travels the world to promote peace, human rights, and sustainability. This event is a rare opportunity to hear directly from those impacted by humanity’s most dangerous creation. It will be followed by family friendly workshops including art workshops, Japanese crane folding and a performance by dramatist Michael Mears. Register here

June 4th: International Day for Children as Victims of War

Our Brighton branch shall have a stall in town and will be contributing to writing the names of all the children under one year old who have been killed in Gaza which are being written onto tape to be used in some form of display. We shall encourage people to write some of the names whilst at the stall. Last month some 200 or more were tied on the fence of the local L3Harris arms factory, but sadly there are so many now we are widening where and how we get them written. Please contact us if you’d like to get involved.
