Nuclear weapons are one of the greatest threats to peace and survival. For the first time in living memory, there is a real possibility of eliminating nuclear weapons from Scotland, the UK and the world. Please help ensure that our opposition to nuclear weapons is heard loud and clear.
In the 2015 UK general election, we the people will choose MPs who will decide whether or not to spend £100 billion to replace Trident in 2016 and keep nuclear weapons on the Clyde for the next 50 years. The Scrap Trident Coalition is calling for support in demonstrating opposition to the renewal of these weapons. Four WILPF women are on the Scrap Trident Coalition steering group.
Our future does not have to be built around warmongering, resource competition and strife. It can be about compassion, nurturing, mutualism and care. For too long, the world’s governments have wasted too many precious resources on weapons that do not provide real security. There is another way. We can make a difference.
Please ask your parliamentary candidates to take the Pledge to Vote No to Trident Replacement. The Pledge form is online at scraptrident.org, and you can take the Pledge yourself as well!
