Michelle Bachelet to be new UN High Commissioner for Human Rights

Michelle Bachelet has been unanimously been appointed by UN High Commissioner for Human Rights by the UN General Assembly.

Bachelet is a prominent women’s rights advocate and was the first ever woman President of Chile. She is a strong choice as she has experience working with civil society in the face of repression.

She starts work in under three weeks time and so we want to make sure that she hits the ground running. Take part in UNA UK‘s poll here to share what issues you want our new UN High Commissioner for Human Rights to prioritise.
