On the morning of 12 January 2024, the United States and the United Kingdom, with support from Australia, Bahrain, Canada, and the Netherlands, launched a series of cruise missile and airstrikes against the Houthi movement in Yemen in response to Houthi attacks on ships in the Red Sea.
We condemn the UK’s involvement in escalating violence and destruction in the Middle East. Militarism is not the answer to solving international disputes and we demand the UK invests more into reconciliation and peace-building rather than profiteering from war-mongering.
