From WILPF International’s PeaceWomen programme: “In October 2015, the Security Council held a High-Level Review of Women, Peace and Security at the 15th anniversary of United Nations Security Council Resolution (UNSCR) 1325. The Review included an October 13th Security Council debate and independent Global Study launched October 14th 2015. The Review presents the critical opportunity to increase women’s meaningful participation and rights in conflict prevention and peacebuilding. We must be self-critical about the hype around the milestones, and take active steps to not just get caught up in the memories, but to take the next step and leverage these milestones toward action on translating commitments to accomplishments.”
WILPF Secretary General Madeleine Rees was interviewed prior to the launch of the Study.
